We were sitting in lecture when Heidi stepped out of class to take a phone call. She didn’t come back until class was over and told our nursing cohort, “I have breast cancer.” I can imagine how many times Heidi had to echo those words in the coming days and the conversations that would continue with her family and loved ones. Heidi is continuing to pursue nursing while receiving chemotherapy for invasive ductal carcinoma. This fundraiser is seeking to help recover some of the expenses and loss of income her and her family are experiencing at this time.
