Heath Adams is a 31 year old professional who enjoys life and enjoys being around good people. His friends would describe him as the guy who gets along with everyone and is just excited about life. He’s self-sacrificing and will do just about anything for anybody. He’s the guy people are drawn to be around and he’s always smiling and always has a positive attitude toward life, even in the darkest moments.
One of those moments would come in 2007 when Heath was taken down on his motorcycle forever alternating the course and direction of his young life. The accident left Heath in a coma and life support, leaving everyone wondering was this goodbye. Within days Heath re-gained consciousness but not without the bad news. Heath suffered a broken collar bone, crushed right lung, 3 broken ribs of which were compound fractures (broke the skin), punctured right lung, lacerated liver, and compound fractures of the right hip, right femur, right patella, right tibia and right fibula. In addition to these i juries Heath had suffered gangrene of the right leg, infection of the blood, and 100% nerve damage to the right leg. He was told he would never move his right leg again. He would spend the next several month recovering in the hospital and after 7 month he was able to walk under his on power. Heath is very fortunate and blessed to still be with us but it’s his display of courage, resilience, and persistence that I applaud him for. He would say it was faith mixed with a little grace. Either way Heath is a clear example that miracles really do happen.
Now after years of battling and fighting to regain his true identity, once again challenge strikes. After years of being healed and without any warnings Heath’s knee replacement has failed, and as a result has caused a serious bone infection inside his right leg. Doctors ran test and found the infection has spread to his blood and throughout his body and just when you think matters can’t get worst he develops MRSA which is a very aggressive form of staph infection and life threatening.
It’s unclear at this time how long his recovery is going to be but it will be significant. Heath is going to need surgery and a new knee and so I wanted to create this on Heath’s behalf and ask for any donations so we can help provide him with the financial relief he deserves. He’s always putting other people first and always offering a helping hand to others. Let’s come together and offer Heath a helping hand. He’s an amazing guy who doesn’t deserve to be going through this battle - let’s show him he doesn’t need to go through it alone.
