Hello! My name is Krishna Root and I am the mother to Hagan Root. This is his medical story. At age 25 he was diagnosed with high blood pressure. We thought this very strange because we have no family history and he was an active healthy young man. Gradually within a year more symptoms started appearing and it just was not adding up. Finally, around October/November of 2021 he was referred to a kidney doctor who ran some tests and ended up referring him to an Endocrinologist. The Endocrinologist diagnosed him with Cushing Disease. Fast forward to a year later and after many tests and procedures everything was pointing to a bad right side of pituitary gland. Surgery was performed November 10, 2022 and after surgery none of his numbers/levels were improving. The results from half removal of pituitary came back negative…. nothing wrong with it. More tests and procedures were performed to determine where a tumor could be hiding that would be causing his symptoms. After a week in hospital all tests doctor ordered showed up negative so he was left with no answers and what seems like back at square one. He is off work for at least 4 to 5 weeks for recovery from surgery. His journey to becoming a healthy man is still ongoing and prescriptions and hospital/medical bills are piling up.
