Many of you may know Gino Furgiuele; some of you may not. During the last 30 years of being a friend to this family, he has not once refused to help any of us when asked or offered his assistance when someone was in need.

 

Unfortunately, in 2021, Gino contracted the Covid-19 Sars virus. It has simply ravaged his immune system, getting into his joints and making it impossible for him to walk, let alone work and earn a living to pay his living expenses and medical bills.

 

This awful virus has left Gino wheelchair-bound, and though he is determined to beat this sickness and walk again, it will take the help and compassion of his community to see him through these times of trouble.

 

Gino believes in three things in this life: Family, Freedom, and America. This virus has taken away most of Gino's freedoms, one being the freedom to enjoy his passion for riding a motorcycle and the ability to provide support for his family. Gino has lost the freedom of mobility that most of us take for granted each day. More importantly, this illness has taken away his happiness.

 

Gino's new road will be a tough uphill battle daily, but with our help, we know that the toughness inside Gino will shine through, and he will come out of this challenge even better than before.

 

Gino has endured two surgeries but will need at least five more in the coming months. He will need fares for the countless rides to and from appointments and surgeries. He will need the necessities of living and keeping his mortgage current, so he doesn't lose his home.

 

Gino has applied for disability and is waiting on the outcome of that application. He is left with zero income and exists on the minimum government assistance until then.
