Help for George Ford, Austin Healy Drummer

10/19/2022 Update: Thanks to the generous donations made to this page, George has been able to take care of some bills. His sight has improved a bit, and the eye doctor is hopeful more improvement can be made in his vision. He is working with state services to help find employment. We have just realized there are fees for these services, and bills are yet to be paid. Please share this GoFundMe page with anyone you think might be interested in helping. George’s story:

George Ford of Minneapolis’ popular Southern Rock cover band, Austin Healy, has loved playing drums ever since he learned to talk - and could ask for a drum for his birthday.

He moved to the Minneapolis area in 1993 to attend Music Tech not only to become a better drummer, but also to learn the business of music. Today George needs our help. He is facing a challenging medical diagnosis that affects his eyesight. Due to this condition, he is unable to work a regular job, or play gigs with Austin Healy at this time. His wife, Vanessa, is working full-time, but is finding it hard to make ends meet. As you can imagine, the bills are coming in and need to be paid.

My relationship:

I am one of George’s “old, reliable” aunts, as he once referred to me when I was about 30 years old. (What!?!). I live in the Kansas City area. George is a warm and wonderful person with a terrific sense of humor. He has loved me and made me laugh his entire life. His high-pitched giggle turned into a deep, booming laugh somewhere along the way. George does not smoke, drink, nor touch drugs - a testament to his character considering the business he chose.

I love him dearly, and I am trying to help him find some basic resources in addition to his need for funds. George hasn’t asked for help, but he needs it. I want to give him assistance, but I can't do it on my own.

My request:

Would you be willing to help George through a difficult period in his life with a small donation to help get him back on the road to health, to happiness, and to help him keep his home? I know times are tough for almost everyone, but any amount you could spare would be greatly appreciated.
