Dear friends and family,

I know many of you are aware that over the past two months, my youngest sister, Gabby, has started a journey that none of us ever imagined we would have to walk through again. On November 2nd, she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called clear cell carcinoma, and since then, we have been thrown back into an all too familiar world of oncologist appointments, chemotherapy treatments and the emotional, mental, and physical weight of it all.

This is what we know so far: the cancer in Gabby’s body is localized to her cervix and the tumor is currently inoperable due to its size. Her oncologist has recommended a very strong chemotherapy regimen that she is taking every 2 weeks. As of today, she has already received two out of a possible six treatments, and she is due for her third treatment on January 12th. After her third treatment, there will be a scan to see how the tumor has responded to the treatment, and to explore the possibility of removing it. We are praying that God does a work in Gabby through these treatments, and that the chemotherapy will reduce or completely eradicate the tumor. We know He is able!

Since November, we’ve been able to see God’s providence and comfort over Gabby’s life. When first diagnosed, Gabby did not have any health insurance; but God provided a way for her to receive some financial assistance through Broward Health which helped get her the care she needed for the past couple of months. This was an incredible testimony of how God will make a way even when there doesn’t seem to be one.

I wanted to create this Go Fund Me as a way to keep you updated on Gabby’s journey, but also to create a space for anyone who wants to help financially. All the financial support that we receive through this means will be going towards Gabby’s medical bills, deductibles, and care for her cancer treatment.

We are incredibly grateful to all who have already reached out and given their tangible and emotional support to Gabby and to our family. We know Gabby has countless number of people who love and care for her, and who want to be there to support her in any way possible.

Although the heaviness of mami’s cancer journey and her passing is still so fresh and present in our lives, we know Gabby’s journey will not look the same. The challenges will be different, the circumstances will be different, and even the people who can be with her will be different. But one thing will always remain constant and unchanging in our lives, and that is God’s goodness, presence, and peace over the battle she is facing. So, as we said during mami’s journey, we declare the same in Gabby’s: Soli Deo Gloria, “Glory to God alone”.
