Help for Francis' Serious Injury
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
On June 1st, 2020, while cleaning the gutter, Francis (my dad) fell off of our roof and landed on the brick ground in our backyard. We quickly rushed him to the emergency room but were unable to stay by his side because of COVID. While the ER doctors tried their best to treat him, they made the decision to send him to Stanford’s Adult Emergency on an ambulance to see a spine specialist, as the original ER doctor said that paralysis would be possible. We later found out that Francis had broken 3 different parts of his wrist and 5 different parts of his back.
On June 9th, Francis had a wrist surgery and will need to return for a secondary wrist surgery in 3 months to get the metal plate removed. Back surgery is still a likely possibility.
Under normal circumstances, we would not be asking for financial help. However, at the start of COVID’s shelter in place, my dad, who is our household’s only source of income, got laid off and lost his job. This meant that on top of my college tuition and all of our other household bills, we had to begin paying for our own health insurance. Now, with Francis’ accident, we are facing more financial struggles and need lots of help.
We are asking for your help to cover the costs of surgery procedures, ambulance fees, and other medical costs as my dad transitions into this new lifestyle. Your prayers mean so much to our family and any support is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Maggie
