Help for flooding in Valencia, Spain
Donation protected
A year’s worth of rainfall in 8 hours. A week ago, a historic flooding affected my home region of Valencia, Spain. There are more than 200 dead, with countless more still to be found in the mud and under the innumerable piled-up cars carried long distances by a water torrent that reached the second floor of many homes.
Several towns have been completely devastated, with not one business left, many homes damaged to the point of not being livable, schools shuttered, and no food, water, or power for tens of thousands. While the government has largely failed to effectively organize an effective response to this disaster, thousands of volunteers from the city of Valencia have lent themselves to the cause of helping their neighbors, and have now been cleaning up mud, bringing water, food, and basic needs to those who have lost everything.
We are fundraising to contribute to funding those volunteer, day-to-day person initiatives to bring an entire region back to its feet.
This fundraiser is organized by Andres Reig, from Valencia, Spain. All money raised will be donated to provide relief for those affected by these floods. This will be done through collaboration with trustworthy organizations we know first-hand who are preparing food for those in need and providing them with basic goods, from appliances to furniture.
