Help for Farooq - Amir Hashmi

Donation protected
Many of you know our good friend Farooq Hashmi and some may also know his cousin Amir.      They were in route to Tucson this week (Jan 22nd) and went through Atlanta to deliver a machine to a friend.   They parked their van in a strip center lot in front.   Sometime around 11am, while taking the machine in, they were robbed.  The thieves did a bash and grab taking suit cases and backpacks with personal belongs and goods for Tucson.   Many kilos of material were taken along with choice pieces.  Here is one of Farooq's Facebook posts about the incident.

Still in recovery trying to accept what I can’t change. We got randomly hit in a parking lot earlier today right after dropping off a machine and had our vehicle practically emptied out in minutes if that while we stepped away for minutes in broad daylight.

Every variable that led to the perfect storm plays in my mind in slow motion over and over again. To the guys that are undoubtedly scanning my social media trying to figure out what they have - do something good with it or give me a ring and let me buy my things back - I ain’t mad at ya just upset I slipped.

Truly a rough day on the job and gonna be a rough Tucson. Thanks to everyone for their kind wishes, prayers and support. It truly means the world to us.

Back to our campaign need:

In trading messages with Farooq there is a definite need.  Farooq says he's ok and will recover, but his cousin Amir lost about everything including his passport and can use help.  No insurance.  This kind of hit is hard to recover from.

Farooq and Amir have many friends among us, many reaching out asking how they can help.   Well this is the answer - between us we can help take care of Amir's current needs and help our brother Farooq at the same time.    All funds (less the GFM fees) will go directly to them when received.

You can hit either of them (or me) up on Facebook  as well.   Farooq has posted pictures of many of the goods (faceting rough) stolen.  Please share the crud out of them so it's harder for the people involved to move the goods.  Ultimately we're all hoping they are eventually recovered.

So let's BLAST pass our goal and bless these friends.

Let's show the love friends - and hope to see many of you in Tucson!
