Tragedy Strikes Again: Unfathomable.
My cousin Christa (a single-mom-to-be), and my cousin CJ along with his young fiance and daughter Lily, lost everything they owned in a fire that destroyed their home - an apartment in Bordentown, NJ three weeks ago... Now, they are coping with the sudden loss of CJ only two weeks later.
With no mom or dad as they lost both their parents at young ages, they clung to each other for strength and to be a strong family unit.
They evacuated their home, lost everything they had...every memento of their parents Cliff and Joanne, every photo, article of clothing, piece of furniture, all of it and became immediately homeless.
If that wasn't heartbreaking enough, and I sigh, as I write this.
My beautiful cousin CJ endured a head injury last Monday 6-11-18 and Tuesday was found unresponsive on the street. Paramedics came and got a heartbeat on him after 30 minutes, but, sadly, he was already really gone...he was later pronounced dead at 9:57pm 6/12/18 when he was removed from life support.
He was surrounded by his loved ones.
How much loss does this family have to take, I wont ever know, but all i know, is that they need so much help that all I can do is reach out to those who loved them and ask for help.
His funeral costs now only add to the devastating financial costs to rebuild and recover from loosing their home.
This family went from a small tight knit family unit who clung together to support each other after their own parents died young, to being systematically dismantled in a matter of days... I just don't get it.
Anything donated will go to funeral costs, and then after that, to Christa who is due in July (that baby needs a home to come to) and to Carrie and Lily. My hope is that we can get enough to cover is all, and create a fund for Lily who will have to grow up without her daddy.
