Help for Erin McBride Africa
Donation protected
On November 6, Sunday, our friend Erin McBride Africa suffered a serious heart attack while alone with her 2 children in Fairfax (Marin County). She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors performed immediate intervention with a stent to open up the blockage. Fortunately, she is stable now and hopefully on the mend, but the following weeks and months will be a long and hard road to recovery as she navigates the challenging world of medical expenses, rehabilitation, follow-up appointments, all while juggling to care for her boys and teaching at her local university. A local friend from the boys' school has set up a meal train to assist her for the weeks ahead (Link to mealtrain below). But for all of her colleagues and friends in Los Angeles, Irvine, Pittsfield and beyond who can't be with her physically, we'd like to ease her financial burdens, particularly with medical expenses, by setting up this page. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated to alleviate some of the stress she's facing. If you know Erin, you know that she has always been independent, humble, and resourceful and would not readily ask for help in this manner for herself. But she needs her village (local and virtual) to come to her and her boys' aid now, and show their support. Please feel free to message me with any questions or ways to help.
