Help for Erik: Crime Victim in Las Cruces

Greetings Friends and Family,

 

My name is Gigi and I have organized this online fundraiser for my son, Erik, to help him through perhaps one of the toughest times of his life. Erik was the victim of a terrible robbery on his journey to the Southwest where he was hoping to set up home and business. While in Las Cruces, New Mexico, his car, computers, all his small business office equipment, cell phone, wallet (with ID's, cash, debit, credit cards), and even all his clothes and personal possessions (contacts, glasses,) were stolen. Everything. Another person's motorcycle was stolen at the same time. The thieves proceeded to use his debit card and drained his checking account to -0-. Erik's insurance will cover only a small fraction of his total losses.  

 

Erik has been experiencing shock and trauma as a result of these crimes. He is now coming out of it a bit and has so many realms to take care. The victim advocacy office has not helped, as they are obviously on overload. Very recently Las Cruces and Dona Ana County law enforcement located Erik's car and the perpetrator. There was much criminal activity and intent. In the recovered car was a handgun, five burner cell phones, stolen stereo equipment, jewelry and drugs. Only several of Erik's possessions were in the car. His vehicle was in the process of being torn apart...stereo gone, exterior paint job altered to disguise the car's identity.

 

We are sick about all of this.

Erik is truly STUCK in New Mexico and needs funding to get his life and business back on track.

I know times are hard and everyone seems to be in need presently, but if you could find it in your heart to send Erik's "Go Fund Me" some support, as his mother I would be eternally grateful. I am fearful he will lose everything he has worked so hard for in his business and life. Erik has always been a super generous guy to others. Now he is the one who needs help. I have been reluctant to set this fund up because I know so many people are in distress, too, but I have nearly exhausted my time and personal resources on helping. Working with governmental agencies and the victim witness office has been exhausting, time consuming and we are getting no where with help, recovery or restitution.

 

Erik's losses are at least $9900. Anything you can give will help him.
This does not include emergency lodging, food and Uber rides.   This crime has cost so much.

This compassionate, hard working man has fallen on very hard times.
