My friend Emmanuel is an incredibly hard worker. He moved from Uganda to the U.S. to improve his financial situation, but has since faced unexpected hardship. Work has been harder to find and lower to pay than expected. His roommate, his only friend in the city where he lives, abandoned him and his lease for a job across the country. And, his mother is dealing with incredible health struggles without the ability to pay for treatment.
In Emmanuel's words, his mother is suffering from "a condition that has caused her right side of the body to get paralyzed and this because of the insufficient supply of blood through the carotid arc to the brain. For that reason she gets interval[s] of black out with severe pain and having her right side of the body paralyzed." This dangerous condition "can lead to complete paralysis where one full body side is completely killed." She is scheduled for a medical review and physical therapy treatment for hypertension on August 25th... but does not have enough to cover her bills.
As the oldest child, Emmanuel has tried everything - working 16 hours/day, attempting to take out a personal loan, etc. - to provide for his mother's needs. Yet, it has not been enough. Would you consider giving a gift to lighten Emmanuel's load and help provide his mother with much needed treatment?
All money will be given on August 24th to Emmanuel in order to send to his mother.
