3 Updates 6/8...SEE BELOW...one Earl, Marion, and one for the pets.
UPDATE: Earl's pneumonia is clearing. He is being switched from intubation to a tracheostomy (due to scar tissue). He has some blood clots in both arms which will be addressed as soon as his aneurysm stops bleeding.
Earl Stevens suffered a brain aneurysm on Thursday. He is at Carle Hospital room 7106. Currently intubated, sedated and has a drain in. The doctors are optimistic that he will regain his speech and movement with some potential for left side deficits. Earl is currently fighting a lung infections and is in ICU. Unable to have visitors, for now.
Cards can be sent to Carle Hospital 611 W Park St., Urbana IL 61801. Room 7106
UPDATE ON MARION: She is still at Carle...slow moving to Paxton. She made a video call to CJ this morning. Lots of smiles and tail wags. .
Marion is also at Carle currently and is being moved to rehab today at Accolade Paxton. The mailing address is: 1001 E Pells St., Paxton, IL 60957. She does not have a room number yet. I will update on I do. She likes visitors. They are checking to see if she can have furry ones. ;) She can have visitors starting tomorrow.
They can use your prayers. (I am posting with his daughter in laws permission).
It will be an uphill road for both.
I currently have CJ. Petey and Minnie are being fostered by Debra Inman/Three Wet Dogs. We have secured a foster for George.
Be aware this will be a minimum of a 4-6 week commitment, possibly longer as they recover.
MOORE’S RESCUE RANCH is paying for food.
We also need to raise funds for vetting for all. More information to come. CJ has an appointment Thursday. Not sure how much the littles or kitty will need but CJ needs groomed, nails, hot spots, I suspect an ear infection, low mobility from I am guessing arthritis (she will be 12 in November...one of Claire's pups) and a dental. I am guessing blood work and some meds as well. Will know more after her appointment.
I am also guessing all other pets need to be seen and Petey require regular grooming/hair cuts.
PET UPDATE: 6/8 CJ was seen by Dr. Spoerer today. Waiting on her senior blood panel. Should have call from the veterinarian by Monday. Some concern about possible thyroid, diabetes and possibly kidney function, she had a severe ear infection and they can't even determine if it's bacterial or yeast and they're going to send the culture. Received Mometamax for her ears. Holding off on meds for possible arthritis until after the blood panel is back. She wants to see what she's really dealing with before she throws meds at her. She is scheduled for a dental in 2 weeks with possible extractions and it will just depend upon her blood work coming back if we will be able to continue with that. She had a fecal today, and exam today, bordetella, da2p-pv4l vaccine for one year, rabies vaccine for 3 years, senior blood panel, and cytology ear cleaning. Her bill today was $600.49. and that's with the 20% discount across the board (was $745.03) plus she also gave us two doses of Simpartica Trio and she was treating her as a new patient because it's been so long since she has been there. Because Earl and Marion are seniors, her Rabies tag was free... CJ has a grooming appointment next week and then her dental is scheduled for the 27th.
Minnie and Petey are both scheduled to go in July 19th unless they have a cancellation at Debra's vet. Both will also require dental with possible extractions
The rest is yet to be determined with them.
George is unknown as he hasn't been evaluated yet by his foster or their vet.
