Dr. Douglas White has been an amazing family doctor with the South Sandy Clinic since it opened in 1997. Unfortunately, he recently developed ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), which forced him into an early retirement.
For those unfamiliar with ALS, it is a nervous system disease that progressively weakens the muscles in the body, taking away the ability to walk, use arms and hands, and eventually to talk, eat and breathe. There is currently no cure.
We are asking for donations to help Dr. White and his family with the many costs not covered by insurance. Specific fundraising goals are modifications to their home to convert a first floor office to a bedroom, a ramp for wheelchair access, a wheelchair lift, and a van with wheelchair accommodation to get him to and from appointments.
