Hello and my name is Eddy but this about Doug. I've had the pleasure of working with him for the past 6 1/2 years and Sherwin Williams has been lucky to have him as an employee for over 25 years. Earlier this year in January, Doug noticed small physical changes-his physician also noticed, that prompted him to go through a series of tests to determine a diagnosis. Unfortunately in early April, it was confirmed that he was showing early signs of ALS. Since the end of January, Doug has been off work and will now need to get his house partially renovated and retrofitted to accommodate future mobility.
Doug has also joked in the past, but was serious, about not being on a vacation in over 20 years; his time off has often been offering to help others in their own projects. He is one of the most selfless people that I have ever met and will never say no. I am hoping that there will be enough money leftover that he could perhaps do a few days on the Rocky Mountaineer, a train ride that goes through Alberta and BC over several days with his fiancé, Jen, who has been an absolute rock throughout all this. His two daughters Emily and Hayley have also been instrumental in keeping things positive throughout this ordeal.
Please do what you can, and if you can't, then please share. Thank you.
