Hello, my name is David Leyva Gallegos. I am Mexican and have lived in this country for almost 35 years.

I am now entering my senior years. I’m almost 58 years old, and I see very few possibilities of ever having a better life on my own. That’s why I’m asking for your help, appealing to your kindness so that one day I can have a better life in old age.

I was born in 1967, and in 1968 there was an epidemic called poliomyelitis. As far as I know, I was the only one who got infected. My parents did what they could for me, but due to poverty, they couldn’t do much. Since then, life condemned me to live a life full of limitations. As a child, I was frustrated because I couldn’t be like the others, but over the years, I accepted myself and learned to live with my limitations.

For many years, everything was fine—until one bad day while I was at work, I felt a strong pain in my lower back that radiated down my left leg, which had not been affected by polio. Since then, I have lived with a lot of pain, which has worsened over the years. Now I have to use a wheelchair.

I have sought medical help, but since I have low income and my legal situation is unclear, I don’t receive any kind of assistance.

That is why I am here now, asking for your help, for which I will be eternally grateful. And remember, no matter how small your donation may be, it’s the intention that counts. Hola mi nombre es David Leyva Gallegos, soy mexicano y he vivido en este pais por casi 35 anos.

Ya estoy entrando a la tercera edad . Tengo casi 58 anos, ahora veo muy pocas posibilidades de un dia poder tener una vida mejor por mi mismo, por esto estoy pidiendo de su ayuda de todos ustedes appealing a su bondad para haci un dia poder tener una mejor vida en vejez.

Yo naci en 1967, y en el ano 1968 anduvo la epidemia llamada poliomyelitis y hasta donde yo se fui el unico que se qcontajio. Mi padres hicieron lo possible por mi pero por la pobreza no pudieron hacer mucho. Desde ahi la vida me condeno a vivir una vida llena de imposibidades , de nino me fustraba porque no podia ser como los demas, pero con los anos me ecepte a mi mismo y aprendi a vivir con mis limitaciones.

Por muchos anos todo estuvo bien, hasta que un mal dia yo estando en mi trabajo senti un dolor muy fuerte en mi espalda baja y me recorria toda mi pierna izquierda, esta no habia sido afectada por la polio, de ahi en adelante he vivido con mucho dolor el cual ha hido empeorando con el pasar de los anos, ahora ya tengo que usar silla de ruedas.

He buscado ayuda medica pero como soy de bajo recursos y mi situation legal no esta clara no tengo ayuda de ninguna clase .
