Edit: Thank you to all those who've donated so far. I really appreciate it. Still appealing my son's Social Security as of April 2026, one year after my son's benefits were cut, the appeals council is finally looking over my son's medical form.

So, I will keep this up a little longer to be able to pay the utility bill. I originally did set it up for $200, but each time someone donated, the goal was raised.

I'm really struggling.

My son's Social Security was cut. It is pending right now, though as I put in an appeal. I could only pay rent and my phone this month.

Not even utilities or buy food. Huntsville Utilities just gave me another extension, but I fear I still can't come up with half by then. Friday the 13th. Everywhere I've called either says they help during certain months, have no funds, don't answer when I'm told to call, or, and this is stupid, I don't qualify because I don't make enough. I'm on Social Security, too. I'm disabled and no vehicle. My son is 18, but special needs.

I've already gotten help with food, but I desperately need help with the utility bill. I have to come up with half, $125 by Friday, all would be great ($249.96), but I'll settle for the half they want. We just moved and I don't know what else to do.

I've spoken to information and shelters and despite my son being Autistic, etc, he's still 18, an adult, and we'd be separated. I can't protect him separated.

I'm desperate and want to keep a roof over my son's head.

Any help or even tips on places that will help in a short time would be appreciated.
