Hello all! My name is Blake Plonske & I'd love to be able to share my story, while hopefully, give you a reason to give.
I have a passion for Radio Broadcasting, it's what I love. What I'd love to do with my life. Sadly, it's not the industry I'm in.
I was born 2 months early. When my mother went in saying she was in labor, she was sent home, not once, but twice. On the 3rd arrival, she was too far along to stop my birth. Afterwards, I was not given much chance to live. At 7 days old, I had a brain bleed that led to a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy & Hydrocephalus. I then had a VP shunt placed, that I still have to this day & will need for the rest of my life. 20+ surgeries later, leads to today as I type this.
After getting the ok to go home, I went through many years of PT & OT to get to where I'm at today.
Trying to work a day-to-day job is difficult. Being there is no cure to my diagnoses & disabilities. In fact, they will only get worse over time.
Chronic pain is one thing I deal with every day; lack of energy is another. Both are side effects. I've actually been tested & I tire 6 times faster than the average person. Arthritis in my hands & hips is newer, but another added challenge.
Working what you can, sadly allows more flexibility than Disability & Social Security. Thus, leading me here. Any help is a leg up. I would like to be able to supplement this, with assistance, to focus on my true passion, of Radio full-time.
Anything helps & would be greatly appreciated. God bless!
This is me asking for a little help, after being through it & back to tell about it. Any amount helps! Thank you!
