For over 19 years, Deb's been the one-woman-show behind Simply Smashing, one of Downtown Campbell's longest running businesses and its oldest boutique. Through the years, they've become an institution of style, art, and fun in Downtown Campbell.
Deb is as resilient and optimistic as they come and she's also positive to a fault. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic being as hard on her and her small retail business as it has been on any others, she's been resistant to the idea of a GoFundMe campaign. She was determined to just get through it one way or another, but then something changed. Deb had a stroke.
She was very lucky and she'll make a full recovery. As far as strokes go, it wasn't severe, but was still serious enough that she'll need months of rehabilitation to get her back to her usual self. She's already been back to her shop a few times, but it's going to be a while before she's running at full steam again. It took a pandemic shutdown and then having a stroke on top of it all to get Deb to consent to letting her friends help her out.
This GoFundMe campaign is for both Deb and her shop, Simply Smashing Boutique. It's for both because there's just no way to separate Deb from Simply Smashing and vice versa. They've been conjoined twins ever since she opened up shop in 2000.
In all those years, so much about Downtown Campbell has changed. The friends that Deb made when she first opened have all since packed up and moved on. She made new friends and many of those have since moved on too. Through it all, Simply Smashing evolved with the times and remained relevant. One way or another, Deb's always managed to find a way through.
This time, she'll need a little help from her friends. Please help out Deb and Simply Smashing into their 20th year and beyond in Downtown Campbell.
