Friends of David Thompson,

On Monday July 5th, while enjoying a leg of his 12,000 mile motorcycle ride around the country and riding through the mountains away from the California coast, David came up over a hill at 57 mph, hit a 5 point buck, and slid 100 yards. He was rushed in an ambulance to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center where they confirmed that he had suffered a broken ankle, a broken wrist, 3 broken ribs, a lung contusion, and a pneumothorax. His son flew to San Luis Obispo, CA to rent a truck and drive David and his bike back to Spokane, WA. The hospital would not discharge him until the hole in his lung closed and wheelchair and walker arrived, though his wrist and ankle would remain in splints until he got home. Also, to finance the trip to pick up David, his son and daughter-in-law had to open a new bank account to bring him home. Unfortunately, her paycheck was sent to the closed account and they have bills stacking up now.

If you would like to assist with his and his families financial burden during this trying time, any donation would be greatly appreciated. All funds raised will go directly to David's medical costs and related expenses.

Anyone that knows David, knows what a kind heart he has and how often he shows up for friends in need.
