Help for Dave Henderson

A few people have asked how to help so I'm starting this Go Fund Me on behalf of my Dad, Dave Henderson (and his wife Angie, my Mom) Also to keep people updated with his recovery and progress. He has had many setbacks since his surgery last Monday and we are hoping that he starts moving in the right direction. It all started with him having throat cancer a few years ago and he had to go through chemo and radiation to fight the cancer. At this point in time he is now having health issues due to the chemo and radiation. Last year he started having issues with his jaw bone dying and getting infections. He has tried many different ways to battle this by doing oxygen therapy and having parts of the dead bone removed, but he decided to go through with a major surgery last week at IU medical center to remove the jawbone and use a piece of his leg bone to replace it. Nothing was helping so he decided to move forward and do it due to the pain and infections his jaw was causing him. Healing from anything for him is hard because he is immunocompromised due to his cancer treatment. This surgery is a big deal, he currently has a trach and feeding tube. Since having the surgery, he has had several complications. The first one was that his blood flow was not working which happens 10% of the time in patients and they basically had to go reconfigure things for the blood flow to be better. Things seemed to be ok after that and heading back in the right direction (they were talking about him coming home Friday and taking the trach out) but last night he had another setback and started bleeding uncontrollably and had to have blood given to him and if the trach had been removed as planned then he would not still be with us as he told me this morning. They do not know why this happened. At this point in time, we have no idea when he's going to be able to come home, and obviously bills will be piling up and Mom will be missing a lot of work. Prayers are appreciated if you can't donate and we love all of you!!! He is a strong man and FIGHTER so I'm sure he's not gonna give up anytime soon!!! We love you Dave!!
