Help for Dana's Dogs

Please consider contributing to help Dana's dogs have a soft paw landing! Sealyham's Forever Foundation has stepped in to help and now has the dogs in our care.

The following is Dana's story:

"It's taken me a couple of weeks to wrap my head around it, but I'm ready to share.

The results are in. Less than one year after achieving pCR (in lay terms, when the oncologist and breast surgeon said the chemo worked, so, you're good to go), I'm faced with yet another battle.

I won the war against ovarian cancer twice (2002 and 2021), and triple negative breast cancer (2022), I will win another battle with TNBC with mets to my bones.

The bad news... although it could be worse... I was given a poor prognosis with treatment... that I am obviously refusing to accept.

The good news is that this time around, my tribe is bigger (and stronger) than it has ever been before.

I can do this alone, but I choose not to if that's alright with you. I can bury my head in the sand and hope the situation disappears, but it won't. As I've experienced more than anyone's fair share of challenges and disappointing moments, running away will not solve a thing. I will fight again and prove to my oncology team, the world, and anyone who pities my fate. God is in control, no matter the outcome.

Once I get a second opinion from MD Anderson in Jax, I will have a better understanding of my treatment options and next steps. Chemo and immunotherapy will undoubtedly be recommended there, too... as long as my body responds to it. And when it doesn't, on to the next.

If you pray, please thank God first for my family, and sending me an angel that has done so much for me during my battles with cancer - my BFF Mark who is in no way obligated to help me to the extent that he does, but he does so willingly.

Second, pray that God gives me the strength and energy to work part time. I've been told not to worry about all of that. But I do and I will. I'm leaving my new career and cute lil cabin in the mountains, and hope to officially launch my web design business Far Woe Design Co. Pray God will bless this venture to help me contribute to my care.

Last but not least, my dogs. I can't take them with me. I have made the hard decison to place them with the Sealyhams Forever Foundation to find them a new loving home.

Let this be your daily reminder to love your life and all your people in it. "

***Sealyhams Forever Foundation now has the dogs in our care. They will require a spay and neuter, as well as a medical and behavior evaluation as well as temorary housing before they can move on to their forever homes. We are looking for donations to help with their care and transportation to their new life.
