Does everyone recognize what is missing from the photo?
There is a huge hole in my morning routine, a hole that is typically filled by Dale Holmes' huge smile as he holds the door open for me, "Good morning boss lady, how you doin today?" I can honestly say, the past couple of weeks have felt completely "flat" without Dale's warm welcome to 18201 Von Karman.
As some of you may have heard, Dale has been hospitalized over the past couple of weeks due to Covid symptoms. While the first couple of weeks in ICU were horrible for him, we learned this week that he has turned a corner, which is such a blessing. Without going into the scary details, we are very excited to report that Dale is successfully breathing on his own, and working to regain his strength to power through his road to recovery.
As of today, Dale remains in ICU, and it is too soon to determine a return date, however his goal is to get back to Von Karman Towers as soon as possible.
Knowing that Dale is the sole provider for his family, this recent health crisis has created a financial burden on his family while he is not working. I have spoken with his employer who is doing everything they can to utilize Dale's vacationsick time, and help his wife Julie, file for disability benefits. While the benefits will provide some support, it is not nearly enough to cover his expenses.
So many people have offered to help, and therefore we have created this GoFundMe page as an opportunity for everyone at Von Karman Towers to help support Dale and his family during this unexpected health crisis.
Dale Holmes has shown us all so much love over the last 6+ years, and right now he could really use our support while he gets back on his feet.
I have been in contact with Dale's wife, over the past few weeks. Due to Covid restrictions, she has been unable to physically visit with Dale, however she communicates with him via Skype daily. During her "visits" she continues to let him know we are all praying for his recovery, and she is open to reading any notes and/or cards that are sent his way.
Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. I will continue to keep everyone updated on Dale's progress.
