On Tuesday, August 18th Tisha and Jared Briscoe were informed of a fire near their Boulder Creek home. Not long after the discovery of this fire, they were instructed to evacuate. Being one of the first people to evacuate and not knowing the severity of the fire, they packed up a small bag of essential items, and fled. Little did they know it would be the last time they would get to see their home standing in one piece.
On Friday, August 21st the Briscoe family received the news that they had been hoping to avoid. The fire took and destroyed their home. Although material things mean nothing to them, the memories that had been created in their home meant everything.
Both Tisha and Jared have grown up in the San Lorenzo Valley their entire life. Their love for the Redwoods and nature that surrounded their home was unmatched. They got married on December 3rd, 2016 just down the street from their home at the Boulder Creek YMCA Camp Cambell.
Tisha and Jared are both such selfless and humble people who have volunteered time and time again in our SLV community. Right now, it’s their turn to receive the help and love that our tiny but mighty community has to offer.
All donations made to the Briscoe family will be used to help alleviate the costs of their current living accommodations and their day to day necessities. Thank you for helping one of many deserving valley families during these unpredictable times.
