Hello! We are Connie’s family and we are fundraising to help her with some medical bill assistance from her extensive hospital stay.. we are hoping it will be one less thing for her to have to worry about during her extremely long road to recovery.
She was hospitalized at the end of September, after a week and a half she was put into induced a medically induced coma in attempt to save her life, she required a ventilator to keep her going during that time as well.
While still in her medically induced coma they were able to move her to a better hospital in Toledo called St Vincent. There she was put into ICU for serval weeks where they also inserted a trac and feeding tube.
On the 24th of October they started to slowly bring her out of the coma.. she was in and out of it for about a week and fully out of the coma by October 30th but still was unable to communicate successfully as she still required the use of a trac ventilation system.
November 2nd she was then moved to another hospital called Advanced Specialty Hospital, still on her trac ventilator, while slowly starting physical therapy. It took several weeks there but they were able to slowly wean her of off the ventilator and lower her oxygen. Physical therapy was extremely exhausting and a mental battle as her body was severely weak by the extensive coma… but Connie was able to take a little over 80 steps with assistance her first round!! Continuing physical therapy she was able to have the trac removed on November 17th. She continued therapy and feeding exercises for the next week to ensure she would be ready to be released to go home and not another physical therapy center.
She was finally able to go home on November 23rd.. but that doesn’t end her battle there as physical therapy specialist come to her house to help her on her long road to recovery.
As Connie was unable to work for a long period of time, and is still unable to work until unforeseen future we are hoping to help her relieve some stress.
The family would like to take a moment to thank each of you for your time and consideration to donate. As well and the continued prayers as those are always much needed!
