Help for the Cochell Family

Donation protected
Scott suffers from a rare genetic brain disease called Spinocerebellar Ataxia. Recently he was hospitalized for 17 days, 4 of them in ICU, for uncontrollable muscle spasms. He also suffers from severe depression with panic attacks that cause him to not sleep at night. Doctors are unsure why he is having these severe spasms and can't find the source of his pain.

Scott was discharged home to be cared for by his wife, Sarah, who works full time but has taken a leave of absence. Her employment and future income are uncertain because of Scott's condition. He requires full time, in home care due to his fragile mental and health status.

The hope is to get him a neurology appointment with a specialist familiar with Ataxia at OHSU but high demand often result in a 2-3 month wait. Another hope is to be able to pay for some qualified in home care as Sarah is caring for Scott around the clock and both of them are getting very little sleep.

Their family is facing medical bills, loss of wages as well as figuring out a long term care plan for Scott.  Our prayer is to assist Sarah and her family financially during this time so that she can focus on Scott's health and getting him the help he needs.
