Those who knew Cindy, know she was strong, brave, and bold. Despite the eventual outcome in her battle against cancer she fought back with faith, spunk and persistence and in so doing was an inspiration to many. Her battle with Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer began in August of 2018. Upon diagnosis, she was originally advised to “get her affairs in order”, as her prognosis gave her only months to live, with no viable options for treatment.
Even in the face of this catastrophic news, Cindy refused to concede without giving life her “All”. It was her remarkable perseverance that led to avenues treatment options that gave her hope. By the Grace of God, love and support of her family, an incredible team at the Seattle Integrative Cancer Center, and our friend Ron, she LIVED years longer than was initially thought possible.
While our hearts are heavy with the devastating loss of our wife, mother, grandmother (Loo-Hoo) and friend, we know that the last two years were a gift, and one that she sacrificed and fought tirelessly for. Knowing that tomorrow is not promised, Cindy treasured this time just as much as those who loved her. She lived by Faith, and she loved her family with unparalleled fervor. She was as joyful and witty as ever, feisty in the best ways, and unapologetically herself. This is how we get to remember Cindy, and for that we are truly blessed.
As is common in these circumstances, many of Cindy’s final expenses and medical bills were not covered by insurance and balances remain outstanding, amounting to nearly $20,000. We are immensely grateful for any contributions, which will go directly offsetting these costs.
In honor of Cindy, and the heartfelt love and appreciation she had for them, we would like to recognize the team at Seattle Integrative Cancer Center, and the many patients of the clinic who became good friends of Cindy’s. They gave her hope, and the chance to fight, and will surely not be forgotten. To express our gratitude, any funds that exceed Cindy’s medical and final expenses will be donated to help patients of the clinic cover their expenses.
We, her family, have been beyond blessed with love, support, and encouragement from friends and family alike. From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank those who have donated their time, financial assistance, and endless prayers. You have been with us throughout this exceedingly difficult journey, and each of you has a very special place in our hearts.
