Help For Cassius and Eileen Albert
Donation protected
Hello friends of Bobby Albert and the Court Tavern. I have read so many Facebook posts this week about how much Bobby gave of himself to give us a place to become this " Gypsy crew", and I am hoping we can be here to care for Eileen and Cassius now. I have created this fundraiser after numerous requests by members of this group, in response to the recent passing of Bobby Albert.
Most folks are unaware that Eileen and Cassius were the sole caretakers for Bobby for the past 2 years while he battled the final stages of early-onset Alzheimer's disease. He required 24 hour care, and also needed to be protected from COVID, meaning no one else could help them with this burden if they were to keep him safe. It has been a long and painful road for this family, and now they need to pick up the pieces of their shattered hearts and lives, and move forward with their new reality, without Bobby. I have maintained contact with Eileen's brother Don Sweeny throughout the years, and Don has stayed very involved with the family, particularly with Cassius. After several discussions this week, it seems clear that what the family could use right now is some financial assistance to allow them time to find new jobs, catch up on numerous medical and personal expenses, and generally reclaim their lives.
We have set a fundraising goal of $25,000, which would cover a few months of rent and utilities, and leave a small amount of money for Cassius to pursue education or career goals. Don has agreed to take on the responsibility of setting up a bank account for any donated funds, and to maintain oversight of all money disbursed as it is needed. Please think about making a donation of any size if you can.
Thanks friends.
