UPDATE: Case is in an Assisted living facility in San Diego that specializes in HD. He is being taken care of by the State.
Our old friend Case (Sriram) has Huntington's disease.
Huntington's disease (HD) is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. ... Over time, HD affects the individual's ability to reason, walk and speak. Symptoms Include: Personality changes, mood swings & depression. Forgetfulness & impaired judgment.
Case today is nowhere near recognizable as the jovial person we knew. He walks like a person with Parkinson's disease. He has severe facial twitches. His only sister lives in India.
He is near destitute and is going to be evicted Sept 25th. He is currently in San Diego.
I am scrambling to find a place for him to stay and find long term care for him.

I am a class mate of Sri Atreya from college. His sister lives in India. He has no relatives in the US. This fund-raising request has gone out to his classmates predominantly.
b) A clear statement that you will be withdrawing the funds and delivering them.
Case is barely functioning. He has been victim to scams from various web-sites. He will not be able to manage funds on his own.
- I plan to pay his bills directly to the invoicer.
- I will not give Case any cash unless he needs supplies for groceries.
- I live in Dallas and plan to visit him in San Diego periodically. My plane and hotel and car rental will NOT be charged to this fund. I will bear my own expenses.
c) Information on how and when you will deliver the funds. For your safety, GoFundMe discourages cash transactions, because cash cannot be accounted for should a dispute arise.
- I will withdraw funds as the need arises. The immediate crisis is that he is being evicted from his apartment on Sept 25th 2019. I will need to find him a place to live.
