Update: Setback – Please help!
Many thanks to everyone that has donated. Carrie is now recovering from a 3rd emergency surgery. Last surgery in June, they replaced the hardware from last year and also had to replace her hip. The recent hip replacement was not fitting and popped out of the socket. She went to the doctor and it took multiple tries to shove it back in place. Then it dislocated again. When she went back to the doctor, they had to perform emergency surgery in July to replace the hip replacement. Below is a pic after the latest 3rd surgery.
She is home now and recovering: Please consider sending her some help with the insurmountable medical bills she is facing. Anything helps! But if you can’t afford, please send her some love and healing thoughts! Please share this link, too.
It's not over yet. When she has sufficiently recovered from this last (3rd!) surgery she will undergo a process to clean her blood of the titanium. Please consider helping out – this has been so very horrible for Carrie both physically and mentally. Thank you so much.

Please help Carrie with her medical bills and other expenses for 2 surgeries in 2 years during this hell we call Covid! The next surgery is full hip replacement and replacement of the titanium hardware meant to support her femur. WTF you ask? Yes it truly sucks. She and Chris have had a remarkably messed year and could use some support. Every little bit helps, please consider donating as she is drowning in medical bills after a year of not being able to work.
Here are all the gory details:
Last year in April 2020, Carrie fell and broke her femur in 5 places. She had emergency surgery to install a titanium rod and hardware. Covid surgery was scary with no visitors and all the Covid precautions. With only Chris to help, she had a long isolated recovery...
But that's only the beginning of this messed up pain story. Carrie started getting really sick and not healing. She kept going back to the doctors and they had no idea why she wasn't healing and what was causing her so much pain.
Finally a year and a month later they realized the titanium was in her blood stream, making her really sick. They also discovered she had Avascular necrosis - no blood was getting to her hip - her hip was deteriorating, literally dying and collapsing.
She is still reeling from the medical bills for that first f'ed up surgery and now she needs a second surgery to undo the harm and repair more damage. Carrie has been unable to work due to the ongoing medical issues.
Carrie's next surgery will be to remove and replace the titanium rod and hardware, and replace her sad dead hip. She will also need another procedure to hopefully flush the titanium out of her blood. Damn! Then, of course, another almost 3 month recovery not being able to work. Please help if you can.
