Hello,

 

This is JR Balanza and Derek Yamaguma. We are fundraising for Carlos Zertuche on behalf of his immediate family (wife and two stepdaughters). He is one of the kindest and most light-hearted individuals there is. He has a genuine care for the interests of others that is well pronounced in his conduct and dealings. Those of us who have come to know him can attest to the positive impact he has had on our lives. Carlos is now in a situation where he himself could use our help.

 

To those who have not heard the news, Carlos suffered two hemorrhagic strokes on Friday, October 15. He was admitted to the ICU where he remained for over three weeks. He had to undergo a number of procedures that included tracheostomy and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy. To date, he is out of the ICU and is slated for physical therapy. Though there is no timeline for his recovery, the outlook is optimistic that--by the grace of God--he will get through this.
