Help for Captain Jack Sparrow's Eye Removal

I rescued Jack Sparrow from Kind Keeper No-Kill Animal Rescue in May 2022. He had been thrown from a car when he was weeks old and sustained very serious injuries to his eye, head, chest, and arms. Seeing his very poor shape, I knew I needed to adopt him and love him back to health. After many vet appointments and numerous rounds of antibiotics and steroids, it's been determined that Jack's eye needs to be removed. It is filling with blood and pus and is bulging from its socket. The only remedy is a complete eyeball removal (enucleation), which is scheduled for Wednesday, July 6.

 

Of all of the rescued cats I could have adopted with no health issues, I still chose to rescue Jack because my heart felt compelled. My vet and I were hopefully optimistic that his eye could be saved, but sadly, eye removal is the only solution. With my personal medical bills adding up (some heart issues and consequent CAT scans that my insurance won't cover--oh, and on a teacher's salary), the cost of his eye surgery is overwhelming right now.
