Help for Butch Crunk's final arrangements.

Hello, my name is Cory I'm raising money to pay for the unexpected passing of my Father H.l. "Butch" Crunk. He went to be with the Lord last Wed. 6-16 after a 5 month fight with rapid onset post Polio/Lou Gehrigs disease. Butch was a life long resident of San Marcos and a few of the surrounding countys being born in the old hospital on Bishop st. And living on Hunter rd here in San Marcos when he passed away.

He worked for Coca-Cola in the late 50's after graduating high school as a San Marcos Rattler and went on to selling automobiles for basically the remainder of his life. He worked for many of the local dealerships - Red Simon Ford, Texas auto ranch, Sisineros Pontiac and GMC, Chuck Nash Chevrolet, Luling Chevrolet, Bills trading place and im sure a few other that im forgetting. If anyone can remember my father like I can then they know he was always working to sell those vehicles. He work in the business when there was no sales rotation and when the customer pulled up you had to be the one to hook them in or you didn't make it in the trade and although he wasn't selling cars for the last year he worked full for the city and job corps softball fields time untill the day I took him to the hospital.

Butch had 4 children, 7 grand children, 2 great grandchildren over his 82 years of life and enjoyed spending time with family. He especially enjoyed the holidays and Christmas it was his favorite time of the year. Right after the holidays in January Butch fell at home and broke his hip. It was a simple fracture and did not need any surgery and we were working to get him into occupational therapy but was having trouble with his medicare acceptance for the treatment. The hospital admitted him to help expedite the insurance and on his third night he suddenly stopped breathing in his sleep. We had him on and off of the ventilator doing fine during the day but not good at night. We decided to place a trach in his throat to aid in going to breathing on his own during the day to on the vent at night so we did not destroy his vocal chords putting the tube in and out of his throat multiple times. Thru all of this he lost the ability to eat and had to have a feeding tube place in his side. At first the cause of all this trouble had the doctors, neurologist, and specialists very confused as they had no idea what was going on. Then they started to see signs of his childhood Polio starting to return and as it progressed over three weeks we started to see a motor neuron depletion in his body which is similar to ALS/ Lou Gehrigs disease which we battled for 5 more months. But while even in the hospital he continued to work over his telephone and when he lost the ability to speak for a while he had me making his telephone calls while he had his yellow legal pad writing what to say.

I was honored to have these last 5 months spending it with him but now im left with his final expenses and all of his medical expenses and debts as he did not have any life insurance and has a few small loans thru out town that I would like to get settled for him. We also have my mobile home title in my fathers name that we will have to transfer hopefully thru probate into my name so I dont loose my home a second time. My family is older and is not local so it has been just me and my father for the last many number of years and subsequently all of his debts while he was in the hospital and his rent and bills I had to take loans out to take care of and now his final expenses have rolled over onto me, which I'm asking for the generous help of others to help me give my father the funeral he deserves and the chance to have a visitation for him here in San Marcos. Butch knew so many people and enjoyed spending time playing softball and all his friends and customers he would run into at the little HEB here in town. It would be a shame for no one to be able to visit him one last time. It was because of all of the prayers from others that we made it this far, and hopefully because of the blessed help of others we can get everything squared away for him. Please help us reach his goal by sharing this link and the story of my Father Butch, and please know from the bottom of my heart that Butch and I appreciate everything more than you will ever know and thank you for looking after us in this hard time

Thank you God bless, Cory Crunk
