Help for Brooke: Medical Emergency

Hi my name is Kristina Smith and I am a friend of Brooke (and Blythe) Novacheck. If you've met one of these wonderful women, you've met the other as they are identical twins and very close.

Monday February 12th, 2024, Brooke was admitted to the hospital for a progressing respiratory illness. She suffered complications during a bronchoscopy and has been unable to be removed from a ventilator since. Not only is Brooke dependent on a ventilator she has required a blood transfusion and been diagnosed with life threatening fungal and bacterial lung infections. The medications to treat the infections have left her struggling with kidney failure and requiring emergency dialysis.

Brooke does not have short term disability and when she recovers from this illness it will be a very long road to recovery. Additionally, Blythe is trying to juggle time away from work as she is spending all of her time trying to manage their shared household and Brooke's ever increasing medical concerns.

Worrying about medical bills, a house mortgage, and all the other expenses that come with life adds an additional level of stress when someone is facing such an uphill battle.

I can't fix Brooke's illness, and I can't take away the deep concern Blythe has for her sister, but I am hoping I can help alleviate some of the financial stress they are facing.
