Help for Brittney Paxton after the fire.

My name is Courtney and most of you know who my sister Brittney Paxton is. Just like a lot of people we know, my sister Brittney was hit hard by the pandemic in 2020. She contracted Covid, was forced to shut her daycare business down due to being ill as well as lack of children/parents wanting their children in a daycare environment through the thick of the pandemic.  She filed for unemployment which will run out this April, has not been able to pay for her rent in almost a year now and forced to move to Reno in a home that our mom is fixing up for her to stay in while she gets back on her feet. A few weeks back she hired movers and drove from Sacramento up to Reno and placed her entire home in the public storage facility on S. McCarren Blvd. near the airport in Reno until she makes the final move. On Monday, March 1 the public storage staff called Brittney to inform her that on Friday, February 26 a fire in her storage unit row had started burning down seven units and damaging many more. She was told she has 30 days to move her things out of their storage unit and that she will not be able to put things in a different storage unit if anything has survived. After making an appointment to see the unit she was able to see that while everything in her unit did not burn, it is all completely damaged from fire retardant, soot, the smell  as well as completely soaked in water from the fire hoses as well as the sprinkler system in the public storage unit. Everything needs to go and she has nothing left except dishes and a few other things that we have learned she can safely keep.

My sister has the biggest heart and has helped so many people when she can. All of our children love her and she loves all of them even more.

Unfortunately, I have also lost my job due to Covid and financially I am unable to help her with the things she would need when she’s able to move into a home and I would love to be able to ask for help during this time to raise money for her to buy all of her things back. The public storage did come with insurance but she was told that will only cover $5000 of her losses. She needs a refrigerator, a new washer and dryer, a refrigerator, couches, bedframe, all of her daycare business supplies and the list goes on. If you are able to I would be so grateful and appreciative of your donation to my sister in order to help her hopefully replace some of the things that are actually replaceable.

thank you ❤️
