On behalf of our dear friends, Bre and Jason Haynes, we are asking for your help to financially support them and their family through Bre’s recent severe illness. On October 24th, Bre delivered her and Jason’s 6th child, a beautiful, healthy baby girl named Gabrielle. After a brief stay in the hospital, the returned home to their other 5 children (who Bre also homeschools). Unfortunately, only a week after delivery Bre was rushed to Soldiers’ Memorial hospital in Orillia, ON with life-threatening blood loss and an infection she developed due to post-labour complications. Over the following two weeks she received 5 emergency surgeries at 3 different hospitals in order to try and stop the bleeding and to remove the source of the deadly infection spreading through her body. Through all of this her temperature, heart rate, blood pressure and hemoglobin levels have been extremely difficult for the doctors to stabilize and she has endured crippling physical pain. So far she has received at least 3 times her natural supply of blood through many transfusions.

 

Bre is currently being treated in the ICU at Mt. Sinai hospital in Toronto, ON where she is receiving the best medical care possible. Though her status remains critical, we are so thankful that she is still fighting. Along with Jason and the rest of her family, we are so thankful to the doctors, nurses, support staff and blood donors whose efforts have done so much to keep her alive. We are also grateful to God for the answered prayers and the many small mercies and miracles we’ve already seen as they have gone through this horrible ordeal.

 

We are asking for financial support for their family so that Jason can focus all of his attention on Bre and his family. Jason owns and operates his own small business, and being self-employed, he does not qualify for much of the government support that he might otherwise benefit from. Currently, Jason is taking care of baby Gabrielle and has been with Bre, by her side every step of the way on this journey. He and the baby are staying in a hotel across the street from the hospital. His other children are being well cared for by their grandparents. If you are a praying person, we appreciate your prayers and if you choose to give, know that your contribution will enable Jason and the whole family to focus on being with Bre and getting her better without having to worry about how they will cover their expenses over the coming weeks and months.
