Help for Brandon Weems
Donation protected

My Uncle Brandon (pictured in blue) has heart failure. For the past 5 years a internal pace maker and defibrillator have kept him alive. They are no longer enough. Brandon is a 46 year old dad, brother, uncle and friend. His two kids are 16 and 13. Much too young for his heart to be giving out on him.
In mid March this year Brandon had a heart attack. CPR was given and he was revived and admitted to the hospital. After a few week stay and some med changes he came home only to go right back about a week later. On Mothers day (also his sons birthday) he went back again. This time he has been there ever since. They attempted to let him come home this past Wednesday but after less than 24 hours he is back. He can no longer live outside of the hospital. These attacks have happened up to 5 times a night some days.. at one point he had a procedure and was gone for 8 minutes before being revived only to be in a short coma after. He has just been accepted by a hospital in Houston to be evaluated for a LVAD and then hopefully a heart transplant should he be approved. His heart is now functioning at 15% or less. This is his last option. Here's where the need for help comes in...
My mom Tonya Weems is the sole provider for herself, Brandon, and his son. Time after time Brandon has been denied for social security and disability though he clearly is disabled. Mom has been with Brandon almost every day that he has been in the hospital. On his good days she may get a family member to go sit with him so she can try to get in a few hours at work. They are getting ready to transfer him to Houston. She will have to go with him being his care provider and decision maker. The approval process will take days itself. And then almost a month in the hospital after the procedure. She will have to stay and be taught how to care for him and the LVAD machine. This means... no work, dinning out daily, possible hotel rooms if she isn't allowed to sleep in the icu room, gas, unpaid house utilities. She would never ask for help, but she WILL need it. Anybody that knows Tonya knows she is the most giving woman you will encounter. So many people have reached out wanting to help in some way and this is how to. Please share, and donate if you are inclined and able to. We realize money is tight. Thank you all for the love and Prayers.
If you would rather a cash donation you can get with me for that also.
Feel free to reach out with any questions.
