Hi my name is Jakky, and I’m creating this campaign for my 15 years old cat, my only companion, the reason of my happiness since I live alone, and all my family members, are in another countries. Despite of his age, Borromeo is a very healthy and active cat, a sweet and handsome gentleman.
Well, at the end of march I noticed his left eye with a little irritation and took him to a vet, a secondary one, not his primary vet because at the clinic they hadn’t open appointments for the next 5 days. Borro was diagnosed with a conjunctivitis and sent home with eye drops for 5 days, that was same as nothing and I soon noticed that wasn’t his eye but something in his face under the left eye. Started to grow a little bump then I retuned to the same vet and asked for another point of view because I wasn’t sure about the conjunctivitis diagnosis, and I was told just to continue with the same eye drops now for 10 days. Once I returned home, I scheduled an appointment in his primary vet, and while I was waiting for the date, I came back home one evening and his face was huge, his left eye almost completely closed and swelling under, with nasal discharge, discomfort and refusing to eat for 24 hours. I ran with him to emergency and finally someone told me that was probably an infection in his sinus but also mentioned that could be a tumor, but because they don’t have the equipment, I needed to take him to his primary vet and discuss about other possibilities. They also gave me some antibiotics who finally started to make some difference helping reduce the swelling, but 3 days after he started to refuse to eat again, and having some blood running from his nose, so I had to run to his vet one day prior the scheduled appointment. I drop him there because they hadn’t open time, and at the end of the day the vet finally checked on him and called me to talk about what could be all the swelling in his face. One option told was that probably could be an abscess and needed a surgery for a dental and gum cleaning, what was scheduled for 3 days after. He went into anesthesia, had the cleaning, some RX, blood work, everything suggested . Thankfully he did great and came back home with no extractions and some new medicines. Eating very good, in a really good mood, but after 4 days his face started to swelling again. Another visit to the vet, and this time I was told that they did everything that they could do at their facility, that he think can be a tumor, but to really discover what’s going on, I needed an specialist for a CT scan, or just give up and take him every 3 weeks for some injections to make him feel comfortable until nothing helps anymore because all the procedures are too expensive. I came back home devastated, I cried a lot but I couldn’t just give up on my baby so I called the specialist clinic and set an appointment that happened yesterday (06/02/2025). The doctor that took care of Borro, was the sweetest ever! And she gave me hope that instead a tumor can be a fungus or bacterial infection but they need to do the CT scan and the culture to discover what he have for sure and treat him with the right antibiotics and other medicines. I want to do EVERYTHING that is in my power to save him, and the vet suggested to do the procedure as soon as possible because his face continue swelling. I just wasn’t expecting the price that came completely out of what I can pay right now, and I’m in a deepest pain and stress because since I came home I’ve been trying everything to get the money, loans and credit cards, but I’m not having any progress and my situation right now is not the best. Today the swelling in his face is worse and his eye is almost completely closed. We are running out of time because if this infection continues without treatment, can be fatal.
I really need any help that I can have and I beg if anyone can donate even $1 dollar will help
This is something that you are never ready for.
I will be thankful forever! Please help me to save my Borro.
