Help for Bobby Joe: double lung transplant

Donation protected
Born with pulmonary dysplasia, Bobby Joe has struggled to breathe, struggled to live most of his live and is now awaiting his second double lung transplant.
We can only imagine the stress on the body fighting for every grasp of air it can get to perform what most of us consider basic day to day activities (getting out of bed, walking to the washroom, eating a meal). Now, add to that the exertion of wondering when you will get that call that it is your chance at a 16 hour surgery that could save and change your life. Well, Bobby has gone thru it all and is now in the situation where he has no choice but to do it again.
Complications arose after his first double lung transplant in 2018 and Bobby returned to Toronto in April of 2021 to prepare to repeat the procedure. Although the Province of PEI will cover some of the expenses related to the procedure, Bobby is responsible for the partial and often full portion of many expenditures: daily transportation to and from medical appointments and therapy, meals, medications and housing.
Because they have to be ready and able to be at the hospital within minutes of receiving “the call” Bobby Joe and Sheryl have paused regular life and employment and have been living on Toronto now for a full year. On February 4th, 2021 Bobby, being at the top of the list, received “the call” to come and prepare for a transplant as a donor organ was available. However, that opportunity did not work out as hoped as Bobby tested positive to COVID-19 after spending the day at the hospital and the donor organ went to the next person on the transplant list. Our thoughts and prayers are with the donors family and loved ones and our best wishes and prayers for a happy healthy life are with the recipient.
Sadly, no one knows how much longer he/they will have to wait to get “the call” again. So, we are humbly asking that is you are in a position that you are able to donate to this campaign in hopes to save Bobby Joe’s life, that you make a donation and share this post with everyone you know. If you are not in a position to be able to donate, please share this link with everyone you know so we can grow our number of people reached and bring attention to the importance of being an organ donor.
Humbly we offer our heart-filled thank you for your thoughts, prayers and support.
Thank you!
