7/26/19 at 430 am a horrible accident occurred. Betty is my mothers horse whom is now at a emergency Vet hospital in Las Vegas. My mom was transporting a Stallion ( our cousins new horse) and Betty to Idaho. Along the way outside of Vegas the stallion broke free and destroyed the inside of the trailer. He proceeded to mount Betty and completely destroyed her back legs. They are shredded. Her teats were almost completely ripped off and have been sewn back on ( twice= stitching came undone once so far) she has several hematoma's along her belly, legs and where the one teat that was savable is. She has subcutaneous emphysema ( air trapping under the skin) from the numerous gashes, currently still bleeding needing a possible transfusion, still not sure if there is any internal bleeding or how much tendon damage was done ( her tendons in her leg were coming out of her skin). She is in Intensive care for at least 7 days and being heavily monitored for the next 48 hours where its going to be touch and go ( hoping she doesn't turn septic). They are unsure if Betty will need any surgeries. My mother is from down here in So cal. She is stuck out in Vegas and needs some serious help with vet bills.
