Hi friends and family.. Hope everyone is doing great...I am asking that all of you please help one of my best friends Natalia Duque. Her dog that just turned 5 years old 3 days ago is in the ICU in critical condition and intubated. This was a sudden occurrence and an accident. Natalia is in Colombia (the country) at this time doing missionary work on behalf of her beloved brother Leo that recently passed away also due to an accident! Her last couple years have been the most terrible years for her and her family. For anyone that knows her, they know how beautiful and pure her soul is and that she would do anything for anyone.. Bentley was being dog sat by his regular dog sitter and suddenly started breathing very heavy and very difficult as you see in the first video below... Please take a look at these videos, but be prepared because they're very sad! Especially if you have a pet.. Her sitter then decided to take him into the ER right away. After a few hours, Bentley was getting tired of breathing this heavy, and they pretty much told Natalia in Colombia that he will end up passing this way so they have to intubate him (place a tube in his trachea so that a machine can breath for him) and put him under anesthesia so he doesn't go against the breathing. There are videos below also showing him on the ventilator. SO SO SAD.... What they saw on X-ray was aspiration pneumonia. Basically he swallowed something (unknown), vomited, and the vomit went into his lungs. This is a medical emergency for animals and humans..I went to visit Bentley yesterday, and my heart was completely broken. I am a dog owner myself, so I couldn't stop crying when I saw him.. These innocent little things suffering is just so terrible... I then asked the medical team to see a copy of the medical expenses thus far and they got permission from Natalia to give it to me. And I couldn't believe what I saw. I didn't want to tell her what it was up to at that point....And unfortunately she does not have pet insurance.. I have attached the bill so far only until last night which is 12K..(Now $30K!) This bill is only going higher by the day and by thousands.. I would love to help her pay this bill. We don't even know if Bentley will make it but we will keep you updated. The longer they keep him intubated the better the prognosis as per the staff, so she literally has no choice but to keep him intubated or to pull the plug...In the meantime, lets all help her by donating anything, and I mean ANYTHING so we can try and keep him alive.. He is too young to die.., Even $5 will help make this happen and please don't be shy or embarrassed to give anything you can afford, even the tiniest donation bc even that will make a huge difference in this unexpected situation. Natalia asked me that I don't create a go fund me page.. She asked that everyone just pray for him to make it. This is the type of person she is and also why she deserves some help considering everything she has went through in the last year.. Money will not make anything go away, but a little piece of mind won't hurt.. I really appreciate you all and hope we can make this happen!!
