Help for Baby Violet Quinn
Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Trish Swander and I am the maternal grandmother of Baby Violet. Let me tell you her story.
She was born on Thursday, March 2, 2023, weighing 5 lbs 13.5 oz at 39 weeks to Savannah & Travis Maldonado. Everything appeared normal until her 24 hour check-up where it was found that she was struggling with her oxygen. A cardiologist was called in and at 30 hours old, she was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect called Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return or TAPVR. A couple of hours later she and her mama were airlifted to Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas where she underwent emergency open heart surgery the following morning. The surgery went well and they left her tiny chest open for 3 days to allow the swelling to go down. They finally closed her chest on March 7th and today, March 8th they began to wake her up and will begin weening her off of the ventilator!! We are very excited about her progress and very grateful for all the prayers for Violet.❤️ Now we look to her recovery which will be a long road. She will continue to be in ICU for some time and after her discharge from Driscoll, the family will have to remain at The Ronald McDonald House for about 6 weeks until the doctors are comfortable enough to send her home.
I have decided to ask for help from family, friends and community to help this precious little family since they are not able to work during this time. Mom is self-employed as a hair stylist and has no idea when she will be able to return to work and Dad only has a few sick days left and they will start docking his pay. My wish is for them to be able to focus solely on their precious Violet and her recuperation while at Driscoll and little Mason who is now up there with them and for them to not have to worry about all the incoming bills and the stresses of not having income coming in. They have enough on their plate at the moment. If you have it in your heart to donate any amount, no matter how small, I can assure you it will make a difference!! I have been down this road with my little brother Dennis and being a child myself it was so amazing to me to see how the community lifted my family in prayer and in resources to help get them through.
Thank you for taking the time to read Violet’s story and please continue to pray for her and for our family!!!
God is good and He is a mighty healer!! We give all our praise and glory to Him!!!❤️
