Help for Baby Kai’s heart surgery and recovery.

Dear family and friends,

 

My name is Jessica and I am writing this on behalf of my sister Kaja Osilla and brother-in-law Peejay Osilla. My nephew Kai is 3 months old and was born with a heart defect called Atrioventricular Septal Defect (AVSD). Because of his heart defect baby Kai spent the first 2 weeks of his life in NICU. Kai was able to go home from the NICU for a couple weeks before contracting COVID-19. Soon after his exposure, he was rushed to the ER and was admitted to the Pediatric ICU. Baby Kai’s symptoms got worse and was eventually placed on a ventilator at 1 and 1/2 month old. Kai later recovered from Covid but has remained in the hospital because of the effects the virus had on his heart and lungs. At 3 months old, Baby Kai will be having his first heart surgery and God willing his last.

 

 

 

 

 

Many of of our family and friends have prayed and sent positivity for Kai. We see that God has his hand on Kai and all his doctors and nurses that take good care of him. We know he can feel all the prayers and positivity that you are sending his way. Baby Kai is a precious baby sent from God to my sister and brother in law’s family. We are all so blessed to have such a bright light in our lives. Baby Kai is such a sweet boy with an amazing smile and personality and has already stolen the hearts of so many and we know he will continue to do so.

 

My sister and brother-in-law have had the opportunity to meet so many amazing nurses, doctors, respiratory therapists, and other medical staff, all of which we are so grateful for as they continue to take amazing care of Baby Kai. We continue to pray that God fills them with His Holy Spirit, wisdom, strength, guidance, and knowledge.
