Help for Baby Gianna

Donation protected
On March 1st at 5:00 am, my daughter Kiah was rushed to the hospital when her water broke at only 32 weeks gestation. The obstetrician quickly decided to send her by ambulance to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth as her labor was progressing. Once there, she was monitored and put on strict bed rest to delay Gianna's delivery as long as possible. On March 8th at 11:00 pm, at 33 weeks, 2 days gestation, contractions started again, and by 3:30 am were two minutes apart.

March 9, 2022, at 3:57 am Gianna Elizabeth Childs entered the world! Unable to breathe adequately on her own, she was immediately admitted to the NICU. She was administered CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure), antibiotics and IV fluids. The CPAP has been switched to a nasal oxygen cannula. She is currently undergoing phototherapy for jaundice. Gianna is being fed breast milk through an NG tube, and her feeds are slowly being increased. Due to hospital policy, Kiah was discharged on Friday, March 11th. She is now driving back and forth to Weymouth to sit with baby Gianna and keep up her breast milk supply while recovering from giving birth.

Kiah & Timothy are having a tough time being away from their baby girl. I want to help them be able to stay closer to the hospital as much as possible and help with gas money when having to make the hour-long drive to and from the hospital. In addition, there are medical supplies that will be necessary when Gianna comes home and the required hospital-grade breast pump they are renting. There are also preemie clothes and supplies for the NICU stay that they were not expecting. Again, I want to help ease these extra expenses for them.

We also have an Amazon gift list for supplies necessary for Gianna's comfort inside the NICU if you would like to contribute by sending supplies to their home.

Any amount donated is appreciated and helpful. You can also support this cause by sharing this Go Fund Me, and please keep Gianna, her parents, and the rest of the family in your thoughts and prayers.
