Hello I am Halie Ramirez , my Husband Hector & I are parents to 4 beautiful girls.
Our last baby girl, Elena, was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect when I was 27 weeks pregnant. Although this was a difficult diagnosis, I am incredibly thankful for our early diagnosis. This helped us & our team of doctors be prepared when she arrived.
Her diagnosis is Pulmonary Atresia & she is one strong girl. She had 2 Cath Lab Procedures & 1 open heart surgery at 4 days old. She was home and thriving beating all the odds for 4 long months!!
We spent 8 long weeks in the icu/imu, and on September 20th we finally came home!
Originally she was scheduled to have her 3rd Cath lab on February 7th, and that will determine when she can be scheduled for her 2nd open heart surgery, which is called the Glenn.
Unfortunately she has been admitted fighting an infection with very low oxygen saturations.
Elena is on a very high setting of oxygen & still having difficulty keeping her oxygen levels steady.
Our surgeon has planned to move her Glenn surgery to January 25th due to the Elena's heart being ready and not able to maintain her oxygen levels even on high flow.
We ask for everyone to please keep Baby Elena in your prayers. As this next surgery will be difficult on her, recovery is always the hardest.

Su diagnóstico es atresia pulmonar y es una niña fuerte. Tuvo 2 procedimientos de laboratorio de cateterismo y 1 cirugía a corazón abierto a los 4 días de edad. ¡Ella estuvo en casa y prosperó superando todas las probabilidades durante 4 largos meses!
¡Pasamos 8 largas semanas en la UCI/IMU, y el 20 de septiembre finalmente regresamos a casa!
Originalmente, estaba programada para tener su tercer laboratorio de cateterismo el 7 de febrero, y eso determinará cuándo se le puede programar su segunda cirugía a corazón abierto, que se llama Glenn.
Lamentablemente ha sido ingresada luchando contra una infección con saturaciones de oxígeno muy bajas.
Elena tiene una configuración muy alta de oxígeno y todavía tiene dificultades para mantener estables sus niveles de oxígeno.
Nuestro cirujano ha planeado trasladar su cirugía de Glenn al 25 de enero debido a que el corazón de Elena está listo y no puede mantener sus niveles de oxígeno incluso con un flujo alto.
Les pedimos a todos que por favor mantengan a la bebé Elena en sus oraciones. Como esta próxima cirugía será difícil para ella, la recuperación siempre es lo más difícil.
