Our daughter Aliyana who is now 5 months old is suffering from synostotic (deformational) plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome) & has seen a neurosurgeon who said it is MEDICALLY NECESSARY for a DOC brand helmet/band which needs to be worn for a 3 month span for 23 hours a day due to the severity of her condition. Even though it has been documented as medically necessary our insurance has declined to cover it & gave us a “special” rate of $1,800 which in this time between moving & having a total of 5 children is not cheap. I’m not the type to ask for hand outs or extra help but it is definitely necessary in this time & any little bit helps. Our daughter needs this as soon as possible before we face maybe having to turn to more severe things such as surgery which I’m very much against. The pictures I have added are her actual pictures from the helmet/band company her pictures are on the right side which are compared to an average child on the left side. Her measurements are in the most severe category that the office has seen God bless anyone who can help with even the littlest amount.
