Urgent help needed for Aymie’s recovery

Hello, my name is Sue, and I'm raising funds for my son's amazing partner, Aymie. Paul and Aymie share a beautiful love story that began in secondary school, only to reunite when they were 40. They quickly built a life together, filled with joy, their dog Luna, and the unexpected blessing of their daughter, Pearl.

Aymie has always been the most caring person I know. Her selflessness extends to friends, neighbors, and anyone in need. As a social worker, she dedicated her life to helping others. Tragically, while working from her father’s house one day, Aymie suffered a catastrophic brain bleed that left her in a coma.

After 18 grueling months in hospitals and a rehabilitation center far from home, Aymie is finally back with her family. However, her journey to recovery is far from over. While her memory and sense of humor remain intact, Aymie cannot yet walk, sit up unaided, or eat without assistance. She requires constant care.

Her parents, Christine and Peter, have moved closer to help with her daily care, despite their own advanced ages. Her father, Tom, who is also in a wheelchair, visits daily, supported by other family members when possible. Paul has tirelessly modified their home to accommodate Aymie’s needs, often working late into the night, while also caring for Pearl and Luna.

Our family is incredibly grateful for the support we've received so far. Special thanks to my sister Wendy, who walks Luna daily, and their neighbor Janine, who has been a constant help. While I live abroad, I stay whenever possible to lend a hand.

Aymie urgently needs professional physiotherapy, speech therapy, and an electric wheelchair to continue her rehabilitation and regain her independence. The NHS waiting lists are long, and the limited physiotherapy Aymie received was insufficient. Christine has arranged private physiotherapy once a week, but it is costly, and our funds are running low.

We are reaching out to you, our community, for support. Your donations, no matter how small, will directly fund the treatments Aymie needs to walk, speak, and participate in family life again. Every contribution helps relieve the financial burden and brings us one step closer to seeing Aymie enjoy outings with Paul and Pearl.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any assistance you can provide. Your generosity will make a world of difference to Aymie, Christine, Peter, Tom, and our entire family.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Sue x
