Help for Austin & Diego's Green Card Journey

Hi all!

Hope you're all having a good time! This GoFundMe is for my newlywed husband, Diego, and me (Austin).

We're looking to amass funds to help pay for the sponsorship process and green card application for Diego as he solidifies his place here in the U.S. after moving from Venezuela. We have been working tirelessly over the last month to make sure everything is set to go, but becoming a U.S. citizen in this country is exceedingly expensive (to no surprise!).

Diego is a legal immigrant who has been living and working in the U.S. for about 5 years after moving here and settling with his family. We met and formed a long-distance relationship starting over 2 years ago. Not long into that first year, he visited me here in Seattle, and we knew that it was the love of our lives. After another 8 months apart, we finally moved in together in 2023.

Then in December 2024, after the efforts of our wonderful friends and family whom we love so much, we got married!

We're so happy to be together, and the final step for us to move on with our married life is to get this application for his green card underway.

We have amassed some savings from some friends and families, but the cost of an immigration lawyer and the medical exam that goes along is very expensive. Our goal would be the ultimate dream for us to have no issues going forward in our lives and guarantee we have the funds to make sure we do everything right! With the current administration changing soon, there's a lot of worry and concern about what changes we'll have to face together, so every little bit helps to help us solidify our case for him to remain where he belongs with friends and family.

The funds of this would go directly to paying an immigration lawyer and paying for the medical exam Diego would need to take as part of the Green Card process.
