Helping Aunt Trish With A Medical Emergency
On the evening of March 20 -- our Aunt Trish found herself in a helicopter on her way to Renown hospital in Reno, NV. She had a medical crisis where many parts of her body were impacted, which led to sepsis and several days in ICU. Since then she has had an incredibly difficult time.
She has been in and out of the hospital three times now, treated at two rehabilitation facilities, and has experienced extreme obstacles getting a correct diagnosis and care plans that properly address her needs. She has, without a doubt, been through hell. After three months of this madness, she went back into the hospital where they discovered what they thought was a hematoma was actually an abscess that has been getting worse for all this time.
As of June 22nd, she is still in the hospital but has now undergone the surgery to hopefully get her back on the path to health. She will however remain in the hospital for some time before being released to inpatient rehab and eventually return home. This will all take time, but we are encouraged and hopeful.
However, now all of her leave and savings have been applied to paying bills this past three months. Trish needs time to recover from surgery and engage in physical therapy to be capable of returning to work and she needs to be able to do this without having to worry about money constantly or being afraid of losing her home.
What can I say, if you know Trish you love her. She is such a positive force in our family and would really do anything to help her friends and loved ones. Trish has always been an incredibly independent person and a hard worker and it has been overwhelming for her to ask for help. So we are asking for her.
We have calculated Trish's bills for the next two months and included medical expenses for meeting her insurance out-of-pocket maximum, as well as home health care two times a week while she is healing at home. If you have the ability to contribute any amount to help, our family would so greatly appreciate it.
Aunt Trish means the world to us. She is our special person, and we want her to heal with peace of mind more than anything. And if you are unable to donate, please send prayers and healing thoughts to Trish as she continues her journey to wellness.
Thank you so much!
